Being an entrepreneur can be very easy, but becoming a successful entrepreneur can be challenging & frustrating, thereby making it difficult for some people who are anticipating to start their own business.

This article expatiates eight characteristics/qualities of a successful entrepreneur.

1Risk Taking;

A successful entrepreneur takes risk.

He adapts with the existing and the precautionary risks which are posed by the economic changes and the environmental circumstances.

You as an entrepreneur must be able to take and manage risk to become a successful entrepreneur.

Note: It is risky if you fail to take a risk.


2. Confidence

This is one of the challenges, drawing some people anticipating to engage in their own business back.


You want to become a successful entrepreneur like Aliko Dangote, but you don't believe in yourself.

If you don't have 100% confidence in yourself, how would you expect me or anyone else to have 1% confidence in you?

Confidence is one of the entrepreneurial traits you must possess, as this will help you in shaping the fortune of your business.

Get rid of negative thoughts.

If Bill Gate could make it, who says you can't?

3. Perseverance;

Successful entrepreneurs don't give in to any sort of discouragement, neither do they give up on their mission.

You have to be determined in order to accomplish your mission.

You shouldn't let yourself down.

4. Hard Working;

No one needs to tell you to be an hard working entrepreneur, if a lazy man could work hard to become lazy, why should it be difficult for you to work hard to become successful?

5. Have a Goal;

Ask yourself these questions: Do i have a goal? I'm i trying to achieve something great or I'm just running after nothing? I'm i chasing something special?

Those are the questions you should ask yourself if you truly want to become a successful entrepreneur.

A successful entrepreneur has a goal or objective for starting a business.

As an entrepreneur, you should be able to define your objectives and set a time frame for the accomplishment of your objectives.

6. Know Your Product;

A successful entrepreneur knows the kind of product he is offering his consumers.

Be familiar with the product you sell out to your consumers.

7. Know Your Consumers;

When i say "know your consumers", it doesn't necessarily mean face to face meeting.

It's just for you to know who patronises your product, know what product they buy most, what quality, at what quantity, determine when they patronise most as well as when they are fed up with only that product.

All these crosschecks  will help you determine whether you meet your consumers satisfaction or not, also to determine new way to meet their needs.

8. Time management;

Have you ever seen any successful entrepreneur wasting his time or joking with it? Capital NO!

He believes time waits for no one, so he manages his time prudently and brings the best out of it.

All those explained characteristics make entrepreneurs successful in their business.
